There are two ways to volunteer, and both can earn 100% Badge Rebates (refunded after close of event).

Host an Event
We couldn't have FLAG Con without event hosts. Our event submissions open on 6/14!
Now is a great time to start thinking about what you might want to host.

Attendee Hours for Hosted Events
An Attendee Hour is one person attending an event for one hour.
A 4-hour event with 2 attendees is the same as a 2-hour event with 4 attendees; 8 attendee hours either way.
You can earn your attendee hours however you like over the three days. Here are three possible examples:

FAQ
Hosting Events
Do I have to host an event if I attend FLAG Con?
No, definitely not. However, hosting an event is considered a perk!

What does "hosting an event" mean?
Hosting an event means you are hosting a game or adventure at FLAG Con 2024, just like you might host one at your home, a friend's home, or your FLGS. While it's likely that you will also participate in the game or adventure you are hosting, it's not a requirement. It also might mean you're hosting a workshop, seminar, or activity.

What is the process for submitting an event to host?
Once you have an event in mind that you would like to host, click the 'Submit an Event' button on our home page. You can even submit your event before purchasing your badge for FLAG Con. A member of the FLAG Con 2025 Steering Board will review your event within a few days and approve it.

Why would I want to submit and host an event?
There are plenty of reasons!

Maybe you have created an adventure that you're eager to run, and you'll have a captive audience at FLAG Con.

Perhaps you have an adventure or game that requires the right audience, and you haven't found it in your local game group. Through our event registration system, attendees can find games and adventures that intrigue them, increasing your chances of finding your ideal audience.

Additionally, hosting events may earn you a full badge rebate!

Why should I submit my event as soon as possible?
While the event submission window remains open until 10/1, submitting events early will help build excitement for your event among other attendees because we will be adding events to our schedule as soon as they are approved.

What about hosting MtG events?
MtG events will be hosted by our crew and will use a different format.
Earning Rebates
When will I receive my rebate?
Two full days after the end of FLAG Con 2025, all volunteers and hosts

What if attendees drop or add at the last minute?

If your events pre-fill to at least 33 attendee hours, but an attendee no-show brings the player hour count below 33 hours, no worries; you earn the rebate.

If your events don't prefill to at least 33 attendee hours, but you get enough walk-in traffic to accrue 33 attendee hours, that's great; you earn the rebate.

What if I quality for the rebate 'on paper', but at the con, my events don't run the full duration?
(i.e. my 4-hour RPG session wraps up in 3h 15m)
No worries, you earn the rebate!

What if I run an event spontaneously, without pre-submitting the event?
Cool! This is open gaming, which we welcome at FLAG Con 2025. However, our rebate recognizes pre-submitted events only. Having a roster of great pre-submitted events is critical to attracting guests to FLAG Con 2025. Therefore, any open gaming you do wouldn't count toward your 33 player hours.
